Welcome to Undiecar Championship season 9!

This season we are moving back to the loved Dallara IR05 Indycar (the DW12 wasn’t so popular) and doing more events with the Silverado 2013 NASCAR truck along with the Radical SR8. As always, all cars and tracked used are free on iRacing.

The championship will feature nine rounds, two of which will be held on ovals, with the best seven points scoring races to count. So if you miss a week, don’t like that weeks car/track or have a really bad day, you will still be able to have a good result at the end of the season.

Things to know

Division 2

Anyone with an iRating below 1800 (average of oval/road licenses) at the start of the season will be allowed to gain points in both the main championship and a Division 2 championship. Previous winners of an Undiecar Championship are automatically placed in Division 1. Divisions are calculated based on the official iRacing statistics from the day of the first race of the season (oval driver stats | road driver stats).

Awards

We will be sending out some small awards at the end of the season. Anyone who wins will need to send their postal address to receive their award. Awards include the following:

  1. Overall champion
  2. Division 2 champion
  3. Best crash of season

Allowed cars

NASCAR Chevrolet Silverado Truck circa 2013

The Chevrolet Silverado is at home on a wide variety of ovals, from tight half-mile bullrings, to super speedways and road courses. As you’d expect, as the lap length increases, so does the aero effect, making drafting a critical skill in this type of racing.

Radical SR8 V8

The Radical SR8 is a British sports car made by Radical Sportscars. Michael Verger broke the all-time production car lap record of the Nordschleife circuit on the Nürburgring in a Radical SR8 with a lap time of 6:48:28. It has a 2.6 L engine based on a Suzuki GXXR1300 engine, with a rev limit of 10500 rpm and 261 kW (350 HP) of power. The whole car only weighs 599 kg, leading to a very fast race car.

Dallara IR-05

The Dallara IR-05 Indycar is a free car, which all members of iRacing.com own. It became the de facto “spec car” in the Indycar series from 2007. The chassis was last used in the Indycar series in 2011 before being replaced with the DW12 which is still in use today. These cars are fast and fun.

A fixed setup will be used.
